Access Procedures

Access to the Nova Scotia Personal Property Registry (PPR) is provided electronically by ACOL via two methods:

  • Remote Access – from your home or office using your personal computer, requires an ACOL account with PPR access privileges. To acquire an account simply follow the ACOL Access Procedures.

  • Local Access – is available from public terminals located in the Land Registration offices in each county. To access the ACOL system, registry staff will assign a temporary user ID and password. You will be required to complete a PPR Walk-In Client Access Application. If you intend to register notices in the PPR, you will be required to show two pieces of identification. Your temporary user ID will be assigned on a daily basis and will be revoked upon payment for your PPR transactions. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, or money order.
Present ACOL clients who want access to the NS PPR should contact the ACOL Client Support Centre and request:
  • the ACOL Addendum to Client Application (to be completed); and
  • the NS PPR Product Description.
These forms are also part of the ACOL Information Kit and are available on this web site.

Once the Addendum has been completed and returned, access privileges will be granted.
