The Personal Property Registry (PPR) provides remote and convenient access to information about personal property security notices for more effective commercial and consumer protection. The Lien Check Service provides Internet access to the PPR to identify liens on personal property that is a motor vehicle, trailer, mobile home, airplane, boat, or outboard motor via the Internet (an ACOL Client Account is not required). This can help protect you from purchasing personal property that may be subject to seizure. This service of the electronic province-wide PPR system came into effect on 26 April 1999, and the Lien Check Service was introduced on 11 May 2004.
